Observer Full-Time

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Observer to perform entry control actions at Offutt Air Force Base. The Observer will maintain continuous awareness of the location of employees under their control, ensuring adequate observation and physical control of construction workers, vehicles, and special construction equipment. Observers may also oversee specialty items outside the construction zone, including transport to and from sites, and assist with construction zone/site badge issuance and control.

Responsibilities

• Understand, apply, and adhere to the principles of the Privacy Act (Title 5 of the U.S. Code, Section 552a) and applicable rules and regulations.
• Understand, apply, and adhere to Operations Security (OPSEC) principles for identifying, controlling, and protecting critical unclassified information per National Security Decision Directive Number 298 and DODD 5205.2 (series) DOD OPSEC Program Manual.
• Interact professionally and effectively with the general public.
• Apply printed rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training materials to assigned duties.
• Maintain composure and self-control under stress.
• Conduct "Stop & Question" procedures for individuals found in restricted areas, parking lots, or throughout the construction site after hours, weekends, or holidays to prevent or investigate criminal activity.
• Construct and write clear, concise, and accurate detailed reports as needed.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret (TS) clearance.
• At least 2 years of experience in one of the following areas:
  • Construction security surveillance
  • Technical Surveillance Countermeasures
  • Industrial or Government security involving counterintelligence
  • Construction quality assurance
  • Hands-on supervisory construction experience
• Valid state-issued driver’s license or permit.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude, acts of dishonesty, assault, or battery, nor any felony convictions (past or during employment).
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Work Environment

• Field position with no unusual hazards.
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, stooping, climbing, crawling, jumping, and occasional running or sprinting.
• Capable of hearing ordinary conversation at 15 feet with either ear (with or without a hearing aid).
• Constant mental alertness and planning/organizing skills required.
• Able to work under deadlines.

Additional Requirements

• Physical examination required within 35 days before assignment to duty.
• Ability to obtain any required specialty license for operating equipment or vehicles on-site within 30 days if needed.
• Fully cooperate and testify or submit statements in administrative and criminal legal proceedings related to work under this contract, if applicable.

Pay

$23.90 per hour. The compensation range or hourly rate listed is a good-faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
