Internship Program
North Country Community Mental Health offers internships for students at the Bachelor and Master levels. These internships provide opportunities to learn about coordinating services, working with mental illness and intellectual or developmental disability populations, and writing assessment and plans of service. Many interns are offered full-time positions after completing their degrees.
Education Assistance
NCCMH offers a tuition reimbursement program. The program is at the discretion of management and is based on factors such as the degree sought, potential of continued employment, length of service, and availability of funds.
Tuition Reimbursement
Michigan Reconnect provides free in-district tuition at a Michigan community college to earn an associate degree or Pell-eligible skill certificate. The program is ongoing.
Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)
PSLF forgives student loan debt if you meet certain criteria, including full-time employment by a qualifying employer and making 120 qualifying payments on your student loans. NCCMH is a qualifying employer.
Michigan Kids Now Loan Repayment Program (MKN LRP)
This program provides up to $300,000 in income-tax free funds for up to 10 years of service. Applicants must reapply every two years.
State of Michigan Loan Repayment Program (MSLRP)
This program assists healthcare providers in underserved communities with up to $300,000 in income-tax free funds over 10 years. NCCMH is a priority practice site.
National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program
The NHSC offers loan repayment programs for various healthcare professionals. Award amounts vary depending on the program and service commitment.
