OB Tech (L&D Surgical Tech)

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, and sterile supplies for OB procedures.
• Scrub and assist during Cesarean sections, vaginal deliveries, and occasional OB/GYN surgeries such as tubal ligations.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection prevention standards.
• Assist physicians and nurses during labor, delivery, and surgical procedures.
• Support patient care by assisting with transfers, positioning, ADLs, and room preparation.
• Restock supplies and maintain equipment readiness throughout the shift.
• Collaborate with RNs, OB providers, anesthesia, respiratory therapy, and neonatal teams to ensure exceptional patient care.
• Accurately document procedures and maintain a clean, organized surgical environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of OB Surgical Tech experience.
• Strong experience assisting with C-sections and other OB procedures.
• BLS Certification required.
• CST certification preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, and sterile field maintenance.
• Comfortable assisting with vaginal deliveries and performing patient support tasks.
• Basic computer proficiency; EPIC experience is a plus.
