About the role

TeamHealth is seeking a dedicated OB/Gyn physician to join the OB/Gyn hospitalist and outpatient clinic team at Hackensack Meridian Health JFK Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey. The position includes 24‑hour, in‑house OB/Gyn hospitalist shifts and occasional daytime full‑scope OB/GYN services in the family medicine residency clinic. Prenatal patients seen in the clinic transition to the hospitalist team for all inpatient care.

The role requires strong collaboration with nursing staff, support for certified nurse‑midwives and family medicine residents in the outpatient setting, and management of gynecologic surgical cases originating from the clinic. Clinical responsibilities also include emergency department coverage and inpatient GYN consultations.

Edison, New Jersey, is a growing township along the Raritan Bay Harbor and Raritan River, offering scenic locations, historic sites, parks, and easy access to New Brunswick, Staten Island, and New York City.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24‑hour, in‑house OB/Gyn hospitalist coverage (approximately six shifts per month).
• Deliver daytime full‑scope OB/Gyn services in the family medicine residency clinic.
• Transition prenatal patients from clinic to inpatient care with the hospitalist team.
• Support certified nurse‑midwives and family medicine residents in outpatient care.
• Manage gynecologic surgical cases referred from the clinic.
• Cover the emergency department and perform inpatient GYN consultations.
• Teach and mentor medical students and family medicine residents.

Requirements

• Board‑certified OB/Gyn physician with active, current skills across the full spectrum of OB/Gyn care.
• Comfortable collaborating with nursing staff, certified nurse‑midwives, and family medicine residents.
• Enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring medical students and residents.

Compensation

Estimated base salary range of $276,480 to $368,640 annually.
