Department OB/GYN Physicians

The Department of OB/GYN at Denver Health Medical Center (DHMC) is recruiting a skilled OB/GYN Hospitalist physician interested in resident and fellow education to join our team. We seek candidates whose clinical experience, dedication to teaching, interest in research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to excellence.

Schedule and clinical responsibilities

• A full-time physician will have a monthly schedule of 12-14 clinical shifts where a shift lasts 10 hours (7am – 5pm) or 14 hours (5pm – 7am).
• The shifts are a mix of day and night shifts with emphasis on night shift coverage.
• Scheduling can be as flexible or set, other factors permitting, as desired. For example, shift scheduling can include 24-hour shifts and flexible scheduling such as 3 inpatient night shifts per week, or 2 inpatient night shifts and 1 daytime weekend shift.
• This physician will share responsibility with the on-call OB/GYN attending in assisting with concurrent deliveries, obstetrical emergencies, and patient care.
• Clinical responsibilities include labor and delivery management, supervision of resident physicians, CNMs, FM providers, medical students, and other learners, and hands-on clinical care in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Gynecology, and Obstetrical ED.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Successful completion of an ACGME accredited OB/GYN residency training program
• Board Certified or Board Eligible (cert required within 3 years) by American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Eligible for licensure in the state of Colorado
• Eligible for privileges at Denver Health Medical Center
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in an inclusive environment
