About the role

The University of Rochester is seeking an advanced practice provider to join the healthcare team at the Gender Wellness Obstetrics and Gynecology office. This role is part of a UR safety net practice with embedded services including Behavioral Health, Social Work, and Financial Case Management, alongside clinical resources such as on-site ultrasound, family planning, high-risk obstetrics, transgender care, and menopause care services. The APP will provide direct patient care and management, in-basket management, follow-up, and patient education as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and management within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Manage in-basket tasks, follow-ups, and patient education.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing learning.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, strong communication skills, and teamwork experience.
  • Engage in the education of learners, including students and new employees, through clinical learning experiences and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • For Nurse Practitioners: Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner, active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing, and current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • For Physician Assistants: Completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing, and current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA.
  • Clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness, and customer relation skills.
  • Computer competence and a proactive desire to learn.
  • Eligibility for NYS NP, PA, or CNM licensure/license eligibility and certification.

Schedule

  • 40 hours per week, day shift.
  • Weekly Thursday evenings required.
  • Rotating shift within UR - Rotating (United States of America).

Pay

The compensation range for this role is $98,508.00 to $132,995.00 annually. Individual salaries will be determined based on factors including market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise, and internal equity considerations.
