About the role
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at VCU Health is seeking a qualified candidate to provide specialty care in General Obstetrics and Gynecology. This position is designed to provide care primarily in general Obstetrics and Gynecology, including surgery, in- and outpatient consultation, and performance of therapeutic procedures. The position will include participation in student and resident education as well as in the department's clinical research activities.
Responsibilities
- Teaching: Actively participate in the department’s educational activities, particularly in educating students and residents in core educational objectives in general obstetrics and gynecology.
- Research: Encourage initiation of clinical research projects and participate in and facilitate other department research. Contribute to scholarly publications and presentations.
- Service: Serve on departmental, health system, and university committees as necessary, and in a professional capacity in the field. Assignments will be made by the division director and department chair.
- Clinical: Full participation in the clinical activities of the general obstetrics and gynecology division, which may include a combination of clinic, inpatient care, surgery, and participation in nighttime call duties as appropriate.
- Other: Participate in department and institutional administrative activities as assigned by the division head and department chair.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of ACGME accredited OB/GYN residency
- Eligible for a Virginia medical license
- Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated talent and experience in teaching and commitment to research and patient care
- BC/BE by the American Board of OB/GYN
