Purpose
Performs a variety of food service and dish room duties aimed at providing our residents, their guests, and staff with fast, friendly, accurate and safe service while dining at the Tower Bistro, the Tower Oak Room, and the Savannah dining room.
Key Accountabilities
- Properly fill out meal tickets for fast and accurate service
- Maintain the needs of all residents in section and dining room
- Notify fellow server or management if additional assistance is required
- Offer a friendly greeting, smile, and make eye contact with every resident and guest
- Let residents know you will serve them shortly if you are helping another resident or guest
- Thank each resident and guest
- Complete assigned work lists
- Maintain inventory of food and beverages as well as needed supplies for the shift
SERVES OUR RESIDENTS
- Provides residents with fast service
- Provides residents with friendly service
- Prepare for service
- Adheres to all Health Code policies and standards as ordained by the Health Department
- Ensure all stored food and beverages are accurately labeled and dated
- Purges any expired food and beverages
- Maintains the sanitation and cleanliness of kitchen and dining room
- Adheres to all work rule policies regarding safety
- Utilizes badge cards to help ensure a safe environment
- Report any incident or accident to management
- Ensures all walking surfaces are safe from slip and trip hazards
- Immediately correct unsafe conditions or notify management
- Keeps work area free from clutter to avoid injury to residents and co-workers
- Knows the contact numbers for the nurse and security in case of incident or accident
- In case of emergency be able to assist with the needs and safety of residents
- Be in uniform at all times including non-slip, brown or black shoes
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Follows all Health Code Policies and Procedures
- Follows all Safety Policies and Standards
- Inspects Front of House and Back of House Frequently for Unsafe Conditions and Behaviors
- Works Safely
- Proactively seek knowledge of menu items, food and beverage items served
- Maintain current knowledge of all policies and procedures affecting the Food and Beverage Department
Physical Job Requirements
- Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items
- Requires the ability to move around the kitchen and dining room and maneuver items when necessary
- Walking and Standing
- Requires moving around the kitchen and dining room to assist residents and guests
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including holidays and special events
- Previous food service experience preferred
- Good communication skills
- Friendly customer service skills
