About the Role
As a Sanitation Team Lead, you will support the Sanitation Supervisor in guiding team members on the proper techniques of cleaning production equipment, machines, and work areas of our food manufacturing facility. You will handle and prepare cleaning chemicals, sanitizers, and chemical concentrations, as well as manage their storage. The role involves reporting potential contamination issues and safety concerns related to the sanitation process.

Responsibilities
- Provides leadership to team members to execute cleaning and sanitizing as instructed by Sanitation Management.
- Partners with sanitation management to troubleshoot sanitation problems and recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and cleaning effectiveness.
- Ensures necessary sanitation oversight and resources are available to support operations.
- Implements and promotes chemical and sanitation safety programs and safe work practices through active participation in safety meetings.
- Supports the development of sanitation workers through effective training.
- Alerts senior management on major issues.
- Performs daily sanitation of all processing lines.
- Promotes a safe work environment through knowledge of sanitation programs and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ensures product safety and product defense in the plant.
- Coordinates all daily sanitation activities within the plant.
- Follows all GMP and HACCP procedures related to cleanliness and product safety.
- Manages and reports the need for cleaning chemical supplies in compliance with OSHA and plant regulations.
- Assists operations in maintaining the highest rating possible on all audits and inspections.
- Supports all food safety initiatives.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in a leadership role or equivalent leadership training preferred.
- Must be able to use basic math and typing skills.
- Must be willing to work overtime and flexible shifts as required.

- Knowledge of sanitation processes and procedures is strongly preferred.
- Some positions may require the ability to read, write, and/or speak English.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate equipment.
- Occasionally lift up to 80 pounds.
- Requires close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be physically capable of working extended hours in a wet environment.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Operating processing equipment.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in a food processing plant with high noise levels, storage coolers, and facilities.
- Position requires working around processing plant equipment.
- Must wear personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing environment.
- The noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection.
