O&M Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on solar and battery storage systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and communication-related faults.
  • Respond to site alarms and emergency service calls when required.
  • Carry out inspections including infrared thermography, torque verification, equipment testing, and site condition assessments.
  • Complete detailed service reports and maintenance documentation.
  • Support system commissioning activities and quality inspections.
  • Afford equipment upgrades, retrofits, and corrective maintenance projects.
  • Maintain site housekeeping standards, including vegetation management where necessary.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and operations teams to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety procedures, industry regulations, and company standards.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Engineering, Electrical Technology, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between sites.
  • Experience working with electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms, mobile reporting tools, and maintenance management systems.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, electrical safety standards, and applicable codes.
  • Comfortable working independently in a field-based environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed Electrician and/or NABCEP certification.
  • Experience maintaining commercial or utility-scale solar PV systems.
  • Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) experience.
  • Knowledge of SCADA, EMS, DAS, or other monitoring and control systems.
  • Experience with power conversion equipment, inverters, transformers, and related infrastructure.
  • Previous experience in power generation, industrial maintenance, or renewable energy operations.
