About the role

The role involves managing and operating a team responsible for maintaining and overseeing a specialized oceanographic research vessel equipped with advanced acoustic systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of the vessel’s acoustic equipment.
• Coordinate with other teams to ensure the vessel is operational for scientific missions.
• Document all maintenance activities and report findings to superiors.
• Train new crew members on vessel operations and safety protocols.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Oceanography, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in marine operations or similar roles.
• Valid US driver’s license.
• Ability to work irregular hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with vessel navigation systems and software.
• Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.

Pay

$80,000 - $90,000 annually.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with occasional night and weekend shifts.
