NYS Security Guard, Airport Employee Screener

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough and efficient screening of airport employees entering restricted areas.
• Verify the identity and credentials of employees using established procedures.
• Operate screening equipment, such as metal detectors to detect prohibited items.
• Enforce security regulations and policies in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain accurate records of screening activities and incidents.
• Work closely with airport authorities and law enforcement to address security concerns or incidents.
• Provide clear and concise instructions to employees regarding the screening process.
• Conduct property searches as part of the overall security strategy.
• Respond promptly to alarms or alerts generated by screening equipment.

Requirements

• Be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National
• Hold an HS Diploma or GED
• Have an active NYS Security Guard License
• Pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check
• Proven experience in security, screening, or a related field is preferred
• Excellent observational and problem-solving skills
• The ability to communicate with diverse individuals professionally
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and handle high-stress situations calmly
• Attention to detail and commitment to following established security protocols
