Nylon Coater - 2nd Shift

About the role

Avalign produces innovative, high-performance, and cost-effective medical devices. We are looking for a Nylon Coater to join our Greenwood, IN facility on a 2nd shift schedule. You will coat parts with nylon using the fluidized bed application method.

Responsibilities

• Coat parts with nylon using the fluidized bed application method, including:
  • Picking parts from the conveyor belt with a hook
  • Dipping parts into powdered nylon and maneuvering them correctly based on part geometry
  • Placing parts onto cooling racks efficiently before they cool off
• Ensure oven and fluid bed settings are correct and verify the color of the nylon.
• Assist with shipping and receiving of parts, including accurate counting and recording of information.
• Prime parts by manually spraying them and visually differentiating/segregating parts.
• Load parts onto the conveyor belt of the primary heating oven.
• Remove coated parts from cooling racks, strip them from hangers/hooks, and return hangers/hooks for reuse.
• Remove nylon coating from rivet holes using a drill press.
• Perform visual inspection of finished parts prior to packing for shipment.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-3 months of related experience and/or training.
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Mathematical skills to manage units of measure, fractions, decimals, and whole numbers.
