As a Network Deployment Technician at AWS, you will get to help build and maintain a Cloud Computing Infrastructure across a number of data center and colocation sites in the Americas. The role involves some periods working independently of your team and requires the ability to drive change while maintaining excellent communication.

Responsibilities

  • Installation and configuration of routers, switches and DWDM hardware.
  • Troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, network installations and configuration.
  • Coordinating colocation remote hands for new capacity installations.
  • Work cross functionally with internal partners to deliver network capacity projects.
  • Resolving data center and facility issues.
  • Identify, coordinate, and remediate outside plant (OSP) connectivity issues.
  • Lead small to mid-size network deployment projects.
  • Building relationships with remote teams to ensure swift response times to events.
  • Performing site audits to ensure safety and quality meets AWS standards.
  • Improving all operational processes within each site and/or cage.
  • Providing status updates to stakeholders via internal tools.
  • Decommissioning of cable and network hardware in collaboration with partner teams as needed.

Qualifications

  • Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
  • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
  • 2+ years of computer networking experience
  • Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
  • Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)

Pay

  • USA, NJ, Secaucus - 33.00 - 59.00 USD hourly
  • USA, NY, New York - 33.00 - 59.00 USD hourly
