Responsibilities
- Assist the Registered Dietician in providing nutrition care and education to LIFE Center participants.
- Carry out assigned duties and responsibilities in compliance with federal and state regulations and company policies.
- Plan and implement regular and therapeutic diets based on individual participant needs.
- Evaluate and assist in the operation of an effective food service system.
- Ensure therapeutic diets are prepared and served according to physician orders.
- Follow up with participants to assess their food preferences, dislikes, allergies, and other nutritional needs.
- Visit participants in the dining room during meal times to maintain communication and address any concerns.
- Participate in the participant assessment process and develop comprehensive care plans.
- Counsel participants regarding their food habits, appetite, and therapeutic diets, as prescribed by the physician.
- Incorporate participant, family, and caregiver input into the care plan and educate them about any changes or updates.
- Attend family council meetings as scheduled.
Requirements
- An Associate’s degree from an accredited institution with major studies in food service, nutrition, or dietetics or related experience.
- One year’s experience working specifically with an elderly or aging population.
- A valid Driver's License.
- Previous food service experience in a health care facility is preferred.
- Knowledge of clinical dietetics is preferred.
