Nutrition Services Dietary Aide

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely handles and prepares food according to guidelines and regulations.
• Tests and records temperatures of hot and cold foods, and discards expired or contaminated food.
• Ensures meals and snacks are served within correct serving times and maintain quality, temperature, and appearance.
• Prepares food using standardized recipes and adheres to special diet requirements.
• Performs daily and scheduled cleaning of kitchen and equipment, ensuring proper sanitation.
• Sets up and cleans dining rooms after use, including tasks like rolling flatware and maintaining tabletop condiments.
• Stores, chills, and reheats leftovers for later use, and arranges food storage areas.
• Assists other department staff as needed to ensure timely production, service, and clean-up.
• Completes kitchen close duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Food handlers' card required.
• Previous experience preferred.
• Must have fundamental understanding of sanitations, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
• Must have regular, predictable, and dependable attendance.
