Nutrition Services Associate
About the role
This position will prepare and serve breakfast and lunch to stakeholders, adhering to state, federal, and district policies and procedures. Ensure a smooth flow of students through the payment and point-of-sale system. Follow oral and written position instructions. Support in all matters related to the preparation and delivery of meals. Ensure delicious and nutritious meals are provided daily to support student learning and achievement. Accountable for customer service, compliance, food preparation and delivery, cashiering, and cleaning.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Prepare and serve healthy, nutritious, and appetizing breakfast and lunch to stakeholders.
- Cashier and student account management.
- Accurate recording of reimbursable meals using the point-of-sale system.
- Ensure site, equipment, and textile cleanliness/sanitation in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines and regulations, including the HACCP program.
- Assist in ensuring proper food storage in accordance with federal, state, and local nutritional standards and guidelines.
- Provide feedback regarding the meals that have been offered.
- Assist in preparing flavorful, nutritious, and National School Lunch Program (NSLP)- compliant meals.
- Promote food service purchases through marketing, stakeholder buy-in, taste tests, student involvement, etc.
- Provide continuous monitoring to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Communicate and support school activities that encourage stakeholder involvement in student learning.
- Auxiliary in implementing standards and procedures.
- Deliver quality, accurate, constructive, corrective, specific, and timely feedback to employees that encourages them to perform at their highest level.
- Serve as a leader by supporting and actively participating in staff professional development.
- Coach and encourage others to use technology to enhance achievement and accuracy.
- Demonstrate patience with stakeholders when implementing new systems, policies, and procedures.
- Attend conferences, training sessions, and other professional development to stay current on nutrition matters.
- Establish stakeholder rapport to enable proactive responses to potential problems.
- Address safety concerns by working with stakeholders to ensure compliance with district-wide safety and emergency protocols.

Pay
Starting hourly rate is $17.36-19.62 per hour, depending on full-time, job-related experience.
Schedule
5 hours/day, 9:00am - 2:00pm
