Nutrition Service Clerk

About the Role

As a Nutrition Services Clerk you will play a crucial role in preparing therapeutic and modified diets for patients, as well as crafting meals for employees, visitors, and special functions.

Responsibilities

• Distribute and collect menus, assist patients with diet orders, and process menus.
• Update patient kardex to reflect all diet changes and document nourishments as ordered.
• Visit patients to gather food preferences, allergies, and document nutritional history.
• Complete production sheets and document all special food requests.
• Check patient tray lines to ensure each meal matches the prescribed diet, patient request, and garnishing.
• Prepare and check early trays, ensuring food carts leave the kitchen on schedule.
• Perform cleaning duties.

Qualifications

• Possession of a food handler’s permit if required by state or county regulations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one‑year experience as a Diet Clerk/Nutrition Services Clerk in an acute‑care facility preferred.
