Nutrition Nursing Instructor

About the role

Jersey College seeks to hire an Adjunct Nutrition Nursing Instructor to provide clinical instruction at various healthcare settings, foster students' academic growth, and guide their professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical instruction at long-term care, sub-acute, and acute clinical sites.
• Create a clinical environment that supports students' academic growth and professional development.
• Prepare and submit student progress reports and grade reports.
• Maintain accurate and timely attendance records.
• Evaluate student competence based on program philosophy and objectives.
• Implement evaluation devices to measure student learning and clinical experience.
• Attend faculty meetings.
• Maintain professional qualifications as a Registered Nurse through participation in continuing education programs, in-service training, and academic courses.
• Perform other duties as required by the program director, program dean, or campus administration.

Requirements

• Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree.
• Current valid State RN license.
• At least 3 years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable and experienced in the area of nursing specialty.
• Relevant experience as a Registered Nurse that contributes to student learning.

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to create and maintain relationships with students and colleagues.
• Motivated, self-directed, and team-oriented.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Organized and able to prioritize workflow.
• Ability to supervise students in the clinical environment.
• Effective delivery of lessons at the level of an RN or PN student.
