About the role

This full time position is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma and is an integral part of Tulsa County Oklahoma State University Extension Service. The mission of the Community Nutrition Education Program (CNEP) is to educate and empower limited-resource families and youth to improve nutrition and physical activity behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and teach individuals and/or groups of low-income adults and youth.
• Provide community outreach to agencies and organizations in targeted areas to motivate participants to develop healthier eating habits for their families.
• Travel within assigned county, district, and state. Occasional overnight travel. Travel budget provided.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license. Reliable transportation for travel connected with official duties. Reimbursement for official travel.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently.
• Ability to respond positively to supervision.
• Ability to read, write, and use people skills to relate to the audience to convey key educational messages.
• Ability to meet deadlines and complete required program reports.

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge

• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

• Ability to meet deadlines and complete required program reports.
• Previous successful work experience.
• Interest in learning and then teaching nutrition related information.
• Prior teaching experience (formal or informal).
• Experience working with computers/internet-based programs.
• Ability to conduct educational sessions in Spanish (if applicable).

Pay

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends.
