Nutrition Care Representative

About the role

The Nutrition Care Representative (NCR) serves as a key point person for addressing food service issues related to patients, nutrition services staff, and nursing service staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with menu selection and ensure they receive meals and nourishments according to diet prescriptions and personal preferences.
• Screen patients for nutritional risk.
• Take patient food orders over the phone and enter them into MICROS.
• Update patient information in GemServe as needed.
• Correct menu choices under supervision and notify the supervisor and clinical nutrition staff of any patient issues.
• Other duties may include serving patient trays and nourishments.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of one year experience in food service or patient care.
• College course work in clinical nutrition or nutrition therapy may substitute for work experience.
