Nutrition Assistant I

About the role

The Nutrition Assistant I position at St Michael Medical Center is a vital member of the healthcare team, assisting in delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient food services to patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver meal trays
• Avoid cross-contamination of foods and adhere to personal hygiene requirements
• Maintain cleanliness and ensure food safety compliance
• Interact with patients regarding dietary needs
• Follow healthcare foodservice industry standards, regulations, guidelines and procedures
• Prepares and serves food within guidelines of menu & dietary requirements
• Respond to food allergy questions or requests
• Ensure proper meal portioning and an aesthetically pleasing presentation
• May be responsible for cashiering, serving in the retail area, assembling, delivering and retrieving patient trays, performing cold food prep, performing utility assignments, performing catering functions, supporting inventory maintenance duties, and performing general cleaning tasks

Requirements

• One (1) year of Food Service or Customer Service Experience
• Food Handler Permit: WA, within 30 Days

Preferred

• High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire
• Cashier experience
