About the Unit

The Observation unit at Northwest Hospital is a 20-bed unit that cares for a diverse mix of diagnoses. Most patients stay on this unit for less than 24 hours. Nurses on this unit specialize in telemetry, stroke, and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).

About the Role

Functions under the supervision of the RN in a cooperative effort with the health care team to assist in providing a variety of patient care related duties. Maintains the standards of nursing care for all patients and implements the policies and procedures of the unit, Hospital and Nursing Department.

Requirements

• Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• 1-3 years of experience
• GNA / CNA Licensure
• CPR card from AHA
• Basic computer skills; Synquest; Medical terminology
• Experience with Hoyer lift; Communication devices; Specialty beds; Automatic B/P cuff
