Nursing Supervisor - Medical/Surgical - Part time
About the role
This position is accountable for overseeing patient care delivery during assigned shifts. This RN makes rounds to the nursing units and support departments, collaborates with staff to solve clinical and staffing issues, addresses and documents practice variations and staff non-compliance to all VH policies. Nursing metrics are assessed and staff coached/mentored to improve outcomes when deficits are identified. This RN also serves as a patient advocate, communicates with support departments as appropriate to resolve issues. This RN supervises operations of all departments in the absence of the Department supervisor. Following the chain of command, communicates appropriate issues to AOC, Hospital Leadership, and Ancillary Departments.

Qualifications
- Knowledgeable in the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological stages of human growth and development
- Competent to provide assessment, care and treatment appropriate to the age group of patients served
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred or plan to complete within 3 years of hire date
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program is required
- 3 to 5 years of experience in acute care nursing preferred with appropriate leadership responsibilities
- RN Nursing License - West Virginia required
- BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved required
- New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation
- PEARS or PALS required within 120 days of hire is required
