Nursing Supervisor (LPN or RN)

About the Role

VitalCore Health Strategies (VCHS), an industry leader in Correctional Healthcare, has an opening for a Mid-Shift (1PM-9PM) Nursing Supervisor (LPN or RN) at Massachusetts Treatment Center (MTC). This role involves delivering quality care within the scope of practice as outlined by the local state nurse practice act for Registered Nurses while managing a supervisory role.

The RN Charge delegates and ensures supervision of nursing activities, assumes responsibility for the quality of care delivered, and acts as a patient advocate to promote best practices within the profession of nursing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality care consistent with the scope of practice for Registered Nurses.
• Manage and delegate nursing activities and functions to competent nursing personnel appropriate to their scope of practice.
• Ensure a safe environment for patients and staff members.
• Act as a patient advocate to promote quality healthcare within the facility.
• Serve as a leader to promote best practices in nursing.
• Remain knowledgeable about specific state laws and regulations governing practice.
• Complete initial and annual clinical competencies to demonstrate aptitude for the role.

Requirements

• Current/active RN or LPN license in Massachusetts.
• CPR/BLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Previous charge RN or management experience.
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
• Active CPR certification.
• Previous correctional experience (preferred but not required).
