Nursing Supervisor - Full Time Night Shift

About the role

This position is accountable for oversight of patient care delivery whenever the Nursing Directors are not in the hospital. This RN makes rounds to the nursing units, collaborates with staff to solve clinical and staffing issues, addresses and documents practice variations and staff non-compliance to HR policies. Nursing metrics are assessed and staff coached/mentored to improve outcomes when deficits are identified. This RN also serves as a patient advocate, communicates with support departments as appropriate to resolve issues. Following the chain of command, communicates appropriate issues to AOC, Nursing Leadership, and Ancillary Departments.

Responsibilities

• Affirms nursing metrics and coaches/mentors staff to improve outcomes
• Serves as a patient advocate, communicating with support departments as needed
• Communicates appropriate issues to AOC, Nursing Leadership, and Ancillary Departments following the chain of command

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Nursing degree required or BSN completed within 5 years of hire
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
• 5 years acute care, critical care, ED nursing experience preferred; 2 years demonstrated in leadership
• RN Nursing License required
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved required
• New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation
