Job Summary
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Sunnyvale is seeking a EMERGENCY ROOM NURSING SUPERVISOR that will be responsible for providing leadership to the front line staff in collaboration with the Nursing Manager or Nursing Director. Serves as a conduit between the front-line nursing employees and managers for the purpose of facilitating communication, overseeing orientation of new team members in collaboration with the Clinical Educators, and evaluating clinical practice with a particular focus on quality and performance improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop ER nursing staff
- Manage day-to-day operations, staffing, and workflow coordination
- Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Monitor quality metrics and drive performance improvement
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and infection prevention standards
- Provide clinical support as needed (charge or direct care)
- Foster a team-oriented environment focused on patient care, safety, and experience
- Conduct rounding, provide feedback, and support staff engagement and retention
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
- Current Texas RN license
- Certified in BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC
- CPI certification required
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Basic computer proficiency
