Position Summary
The Nursing Supervisor monitors the provision of medical services that promotes resident physical health and well-being and ensures related staff training is provided per licensing guidelines.
Primary responsibilities
- Coordinates medical aspects of admissions and ensures completion of annual physical exams; arranges necessary follow-up appointments and/or referrals.
- Coincides the nursing department's effective delivery of medical services to the resident population while partnering closely with the program team.
- Coincides special needs appointments with external physicians and clinics.
- Collects and assesses residents' medical data in a systematic and ongoing basis, ensuring the medical records are always current.
- Maintains acute and chronic medical conditions of residents; provides treatment or consultation, as needed and communicates with physicians with appropriate.
- Serves as a resource to staff on an ongoing basis regarding resident medical issues.
- Participates in new client diagnostic meetings to ensure that a cohesive individual diagnosis for each client is recognized in the client's ITP.
- Implements, monitors, and ensures the compliance of all medical service documentation.
- Reviews and assesses Medication Administration Records (MAR’s) on a regular basis.
- Supervises the provision of medication administration and documentation; reports any side effects of medication to physicians; reports documentation errors/omissions to appropriate staff management.
- Coincides and/or provides staff training in medication administration and infection control.
Employee and Talent Selection, Engagement and Performance Management
- Supervises and participates in the formal process to orientate, mentor, train and develop staff.
- Leads, coaches and develops staff and provides skills training and education.
- Provides performance management for staff on an ongoing basis and conducts formal performance evaluations.
- Consults with the Human Resources Department on employee performance issues and opportunities.
- Demonstrates the ability to develop a cohesive and effective team, through the use of basic supervision and teambuilding components.
Nursing Program and Internship Facilitation and Coordination
- Sources and recruits top talent from local colleges and universities.
- Develops an on-site curriculum for the Nurse rotational program.
- Supervises and facilitates continuous education for internship program.
Required Education and Licensure
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Valid Registered Nurse license
- Minimum of 5 years related experience; preferably in a residential setting
- Valid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements
- Must successfully pass a DHS background check.
- Must have the ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals or communities and understand their unique needs and challenges.
- Must be open to meeting the cultural needs of individuals or communities, considering factors such as language, traditions, and values.
Preferred Education and Experience
- 2 years of supervisory experience.

Pay and Schedule

- Starting at $110,000-$120,000 annually
