Nursing Station Technician - Neuroscience
About the role
Fairview is seeking a Nursing Station Technician at the M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. This position is a .7 FTE (56 hours every two weeks) working 8-hour evening shifts, and every other weekend. Eligible for benefits including medical, dental, and more.
Responsibilities
- Assists the professional caregiver in delivering patient care
- Transports patient and/or equipment
- Sets up and maintains patient rooms
- Reorders and stocks supplies
- Coordinates communication on the patient care unit
- Answers the telephone, clarifying information, and relaying patient requests
- Facilitates scheduling of tests, lab work, and other patient and department procedures
- Coordinates activities of the desk area to handle communication effectively
- Completes clerical duties in an organized and priority-based manner
- Assembles admission charts and maintains patient charts
- Performs routine duties including personal grooming, bathing, toileting, feeding, skin care, oral hygiene, specimen collection, specimen testing, position/ambulating, changing linens, and promptly answers call lights
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
- Completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview-sponsored Nursing Assistant program
- Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview-sponsored Nursing Assistant program
- Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program
- Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire
Qualifications
- At least one of the following:
- Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview-sponsored Nursing Assistant program
- Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program
- Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire
Skills
Demonstrates familiarity with medical terminology and abbreviations and utilizes proper abbreviations and symbols per procedures.

Pay
The posted compensation range corresponds to the minimum and maximum pay rates outlined in your union agreement for the respective job classifications at the time of job posting. An individual's pay rate within this range may be influenced by various factors, including FTE, skills, knowledge, educational background, and qualifying experience as specified in the contract. If your role is eligible for a sign-on bonus, the bonus program that is approved and in place at the time of offer, is what will be honored.
