About the role

Fairview is seeking a Nursing Station Technician/Monitor Tech to join the St. John’s Hospital team in Maplewood, MN. This position works 56 hours per two weeks on the Night shift, with an every other weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Provides patient care while functioning as a nursing assistant and health unit coordinator.
  • Performs duties such as patient cares, vitals, bathing, feeding, answering call lights, transporting, care of environment, and using equipment, phones, and clerical tasks.
  • Observes cardiac monitors, detects and reports abnormalities, and works under the direction of nursing personnel.
  • Assists with personal cares, ensures patient privacy and safety, recognizes patient needs, and communicates effectively with the health care team.
  • Maintains patient records, schedules tests and procedures, and coordinates activities in the unit.
  • Monitors and coordinates supplies, equipment, and stock, and notifies appropriate team members of test or procedure results.
  • Participates in staff development and fulfills organizational requirements.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required.
  • Six months of recent direct care experience in a long-term, home care, or acute care setting.
  • Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, or current certification on the MN Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire.

Qualifications

  • License/Certification/Registration: Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required.
  • Recent Direct Care Experience: Six months of recent direct care experience in a long-term, home care, or acute care setting.
  • Education: Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, or current certification on the MN Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire.

Skills

  • Ability to observe and report abnormalities on cardiac monitors.
  • Knowledge of infection control techniques and proper use of equipment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.

Pay

The posted compensation range corresponds to the minimum and maximum pay rates outlined in your union agreement for the respective job classifications at the time of job posting. An individual's pay rate within this range may be influenced by various factors, including FTE, skills, knowledge, educational background, and qualifying experience as specified in the contract.

This position works 56 hours per two weeks on the Night shift, with an every other weekend rotation.
