Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily nursing staff assignments to meet patient-care needs across the facility
- Monitor real-time census and acuity data to adjust staffing levels proactively
- Maintain open communication with unit managers, charge nurses, and agency partners
- Process timecards, track overtime, and reconcile payroll discrepancies
- Update and distribute the master schedule in accordance with collective-bargaining agreements and state regulations
- Onboard new hires, orient them to scheduling software, and ensure compliance with orientation checklists
- Serve as the first point of contact for call-ins, shift swaps, and last-minute coverage requests
Requirements
- Current, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 2 years’ bedside nursing experience in an acute-care or rehabilitation setting
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and staffing/scheduling platforms
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, conditional formatting)
- Ability to work rotating weekends and occasional holidays
