Nursing Simulation Coordinator
About the role
The Simulation Coordinator supports the planning, delivery, and evaluation of simulation-based education for nursing students. This role manages the simulation center, prepares and operates simulation equipment, assists faculty with scenario development, and ensures high-quality learning experiences that reflect current clinical practice.
Responsibilities
- Cover scheduling, inventory, and logistics for nursing simulations
- Support faculty in developing, revising, and implementing simulation scenarios aligned with learning objectives
- Orient faculty to simulation equipment and best practice standards for simulations
- Orient students to the simulation center
- Maintain a calendar for all scheduled activities for use of the simulation requirement and simulation rooms
- Follow the recommended maintenance schedules dictated by the equipment manufacturers in a proactive manner
- Maintain the simulators by scheduling maintenance appointments and troubleshooting issues
- Maintain IT simulation equipment in simulation rooms in cooperation with IT
- Set up and maintain adequate inventory of all equipment and supplies, order supplies as needed
- Ensure the simulation rooms are kept clean and well ordered
- Engage students in active learning
- Demonstrate professional written and oral communication skills
- Utilize best practice in simulations
- Demonstrate innovative thinking to problem solve within the simulated setting
- Demonstrate respect and professionalism with supervisors, colleagues, and students
- Foster collegiality within the department
- Timely completion of administrative aspects of instructional responsibilities
- Adhere to the policies of the college and the department
- Operate all technology during simulations
- Cook up simulation set-up with all necessary stakeholders
- Utilize current evidence-based practice in simulations
- Create charting documents using Google
- Participate in annual professional development related to current best practices in simulation
- Work towards certification
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing (RN), Respiratory Therapy, Paramedic/EMS, or a related healthcare field
- Experience: At least one year of simulation experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in nursing education preferred
- Experience: 2+ years of teaching experience in a clinical simulation environment

Schedule
40 hours a week during the Fall and Spring term. Off during academic breaks.
