Nursing Professional Development Specialist - Nursing Education

This role is scheduled to work Monday through Friday and requires flexibility to adjust work hours as needed to support orientation and educational activities on weekends, night shifts, and other times necessary to meet institutional goals and the needs of the clinical areas served.

As a member of the Nursing Professional Development team, you will play a critical role in advancing nursing excellence by developing, mentoring, and empowering nursing professionals through evidence-based education, leadership development, and innovative practice initiatives that directly impact patient outcomes. Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates evidence-based nursing professional development programs.
• Facilitates training and educational programs for nursing staff.
• Maintains required documentation and records.
• Serves as a consultant, mentor, and resource to nurses and interdisciplinary team members.

Requirements

Education

• Required: Master's Degree in Nursing.
• or
• Required: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Master's Degree in Healthcare or related field.

Work Experience

• Required: 5 years of clinical nursing experience in oncology or assigned specialty practice area.
• Preferred: For nursing education, two years of preceptor or instructor experience.

Licenses and Certifications

• Required: RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure (Texas Professional Nursing License). Upon Hire
• Required: BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire or CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation Upon Hire
• Preferred: OCN - Oncology Nurse Certification (certification in oncology or specialty practice area). Upon Hire
• Preferred: ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (certification as required by patient care area). Upon Hire
• Preferred: PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (certification as required by patient care area). Upon Hire

Pay

• Minimum: $111,000
• Midpoint: $139,000
• Maximum: $167,000
