Nursing Professional Development Specialist

About the role

The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Specialist influences healthcare professionals by enhancing their knowledge, skills, abilities, judgment, and performance behaviors across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Uses advanced skills in curriculum design, evidence-based practice, and leadership to improve role competence, promote learner growth, and enhance health outcomes.
• Encourages collaboration, active engagement, and accountability to uphold regulatory standards and support accreditation measures.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: Graduate degree in nursing required, or BSN and a graduate degree in a related field (e.g., education).
• Minimum Work Experience: 7 Years of clinical experience in nursing in a hospital setting, including 3 Years of department/unit/specialty-specific experience.
• Previous educational experience in designing, facilitating, and validating education is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Vermont RN Licensure.
• Completion of an endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification based on department-specific guidelines.
• BLS Certification through American Heart Association.
• Specialty certification in Nursing Professional Development (obtained within one year of hire), or a unit-specific certification (obtained within two years of hire).

Pay

$47.08 - $68.58 per hour
