About the Role
The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Specialist enhances nursing staff growth through education, training, and continuous learning.
Responsibilities
- Develops curricula and implements strategies to improve nursing practice and patient outcomes.
- Collaborates with leadership to identify educational needs and supports professional development.
- Uses educational design to address knowledge and skill gaps identified via needs assessments.
- Promotes evidence-based practice, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Supports nurse transitions across roles and practice environments.
- Leads change management and process improvement efforts using project management skills.
- Fosters collaborative relationships across interdisciplinary teams.
Qualifications & Skills
- Inpatient Pediatric Behavioral Health experience required; 1+ year NPD experience preferred.
- Minimum 3 years healthcare experience with proficiency in MS Office.
- Education: Master's in nursing or BSN with ongoing master's pursuit; RN licensure, BLS, and possibly PALS certifications.
- Strong project management, data analysis, and organizational skills.
- Experience working with all organizational levels and supporting professional development.
