Nursing Intern

Position Summary

Provides quality nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Works within the guidelines of established practice for the Patient Care Assistant at HMC. Supports the mission, philosophy and objectives of Hunterdon Medical Center.

Primary Position Responsibilities

• Assistant with total patient care under the direction of the RN
• Promotes patient safety
• Promotes and supports an organized work environment
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be currently enrolled in nursing school and have completed the first clinical semester course (Nursing Fundamentals).
• Required: Minimum Years of Experience: None
• Required: License, Registry or Certification: Current CPR certification and Crisis Prevention (CPI) training is required. If not certified upon hire, must obtain certification within 6 months. CPI Course will be provided at Hunterdon.
• Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: Normal basic patient care equipment, wheelchairs and stretchers. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
