Nursing Instructor

Part-time position. Pay range $35 – $38.59 per hour based on experience and qualifications. Varies – may include evenings and weekends.

About the role

Paul D. Camp Community College seeks part-time Nursing Instructors to support ADN nursing students in clinical, lab, and didactic settings. Instructors will meet specific learning needs across semesters, provide positive representation of the college, and help expand evening/weekend nursing programs funded by rural health transformation grants.

Responsibilities

• Work with ADN nursing students in clinical and lab settings to meet semester-specific learning needs.
• Develop and deliver all modules and orientation for assigned facilities.
• Maintain a supportive role for students while representing the college professionally.
• Assist with program development and support, with a focus on part-time, evening, and weekend instruction.
• Travel to both campuses and various hospitals as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned; may assist the agency or state in emergencies declared by the Governor.

Requirements

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Virginia.
• BSN required for lab and clinical adjuncts; MSN required for didactic instructors.
• Minimum of two years full-time nursing experience.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with nursing faculty and students to facilitate learning.
• Experience with or willingness to learn clinical simulation use in nursing education.
• Current CPR (BLS for healthcare providers) and documentation of routine healthcare employee immunizations.
• Flexible schedule and willingness to travel to both campuses and various hospitals.
• Official transcripts required prior to final offer.

Additional Considerations

• Recent post-RN licensure specialty clinical experience.
• MSN or progress toward an MSN (required for didactic instruction).
• Specialty certification.
• Recent acute care experience.
• Teaching and/or preceptorship experience.
• Familiarity with a Concept Based Curriculum.
