Nursing Instructor

Whether you enjoy teaching in the classroom, mentoring students in clinical settings, or both, Fortis College in Norfolk, VA is seeking dedicated Full-Time and Part-Time Nursing Faculty to join our growing nursing program. As part of Education Affiliates, you'll join a network of approximately 50 post-secondary schools across the country, including more than 20 nursing campuses offering programs ranging from Practical Nursing to Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).

Responsibilities

• Teach and mentor students in the classroom, laboratory, and/or clinical settings.
• Deliver course content using a variety of effective instructional methods.
• Evaluate student learning and provide timely feedback.
• Promote critical thinking, professionalism, and safe nursing practice.
• Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
• Collaborate with faculty and campus leadership to support program quality and student success.
• Participate in curriculum evaluation and continuous program improvement.
• Stay current in nursing practice through ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program resulting in an MSN (BSN may be considered for Practical Nursing programs based on local needs).
• An active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license with privileges to practice in Virginia.
• At least 3 years of nursing experience.
• Previous postsecondary teaching experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other basic computer applications.
• Current CPR certification and the ability to meet required immunizations, background check, drug screening, and other regulatory requirements.

Pay

• Hourly: $38-45
• Salary: up to $93,000

Full-Time Nursing Faculty: $5,000 Sign-On Bonus*

Part-Time Nursing Faculty: $2,500 Sign-On Bonus*

Schedule

• Part-time, day, evening, and weekend opportunities available
• Classroom at our Norfolk campus, and/or clinical assignments at a partner location
