Nursing Director - Medical Surgical

About the Role

Provides leadership and support to the senior executive (CNO) overseeing nursing and patient care services within a hospital. Assists in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practices across multiple units.

Responsibilities

• Assumes 24/7 responsibility for designated areas.
• Supports ensuring high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care.
• Ensures clinical staff competency and effective resource management.
• Serves as a role model and advocate for the nursing profession.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Active registered nurse license in the practice state.
• Associate degree in nursing; BSN or higher preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of progressive hospital management experience.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to serve as a hospital operations role model and advocate for nursing.
• CPR certification required.
