Nursing Department - Full-time Faculty (tenure- or clinical-track)
About the role
Bethel University is seeking a full-time faculty member to teach in clinical, laboratory, and didactic courses within a BSN nursing program. The position can be either tenure-track or clinical-track and includes a primary focus on medical/surgical nursing. A sub-specialty is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Teach in classroom and clinical settings, specifically medical/surgical nursing, and teaching clinical/lab in specialty or sub-specialty area.
- Teach in the nursing skills and simulation labs.
- Provide online teaching of skills and/or didactic content and clinical in the Post-Bacc BSN program as needed.
- Evaluate students in classroom, clinical, and skills settings, including on performance exams.
- Contribute to an academic environment that seeks to advance inclusive excellence in the department and the discipline.
- Participate in department and university activities (teaching teams and committees).
- Mentor nursing students, identifying growth opportunities and educational needs.
- Facilitate clinical judgment development.
- Communicate effectively and lead.
- Show flexibility and attention to detail.
- Work collaboratively with a team.
- Show understanding and commitment to Bethel’s efforts to develop as an inclusive university community.

Experience
- A minimum of three years clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing is necessary.
- Clinical experience in an additional nursing specialty is preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience as a nurse educator in an academic setting or as a preceptor of students or new nursing employees would be an asset.
Education
- A master’s degree in nursing is required.
- A doctoral degree or significant progress toward completion of a doctoral degree is preferred.
- A clinical focus with practice in medical/surgical nursing care settings is necessary.
Salary and Rank
Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience. Typical salary for Assistant Professor $55,599 - $70,043, Associate Professor $62,927 - $84,168, Full Professor $77,265 - $95,904 for 24 Load Credits a year.
