About the Role
Eastern Shore Community College is seeking part-time Nursing Clinical Lab Instructors to provide instruction, supervision, and evaluation of student performance in classroom, clinical, and lab settings.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and evaluate groups of students (usually 6-10 students) in hospital or health care settings
- Understand the objectives of the assigned course and be familiar with the nursing curriculum
- Maintain a collaborative and positive relationship with the clinical site, other faculty, and staff
- Maintain student records, including accurate clinical hours, and sign off at the end of each clinical day
- Meet and communicate with students on a regular basis to provide academic feedback
- Accurately complete clinical paperwork
- Participate in all mandatory trainings and/or meetings required before and during the semester, to include site-specific orientation
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned
- May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor
Required Qualifications
- Holds a current, unencumbered license as a registered nurse or multistate licensure privilege to practice nursing in Virginia
- A minimum of five (5) years of recent full-time, clinical experience as a registered nurse
- Medical/Surgical nursing experience is required
- A bachelor's degree in nursing or nurse education from a regionally accredited college or university
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of, and experience with, proven teaching strategies that promote student success
- Sufficient technology skills to work productively in an organization that utilizes significant information and instructional technology resources
Pay
$38.00-$45.00 per hour
Schedule
Wednesdays plus an occasional Friday (with some occasional evenings/weekend shifts). Varies 8-16 hours per week.
