The Nursing Clinical Coordinator at Northwestern Medicine plays a crucial role in supporting the nursing staff and ensuring high-quality patient care. This position requires a combination of administrative support and clinical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership support to the nurse manager for unit daily management and program management.
• Maintains unit safe staffing levels through just-in-time recruitment.
• Aids in interviewing for positions in the nursing department in collaboration with Human Resources.
• Assists in developing and implementing departmental policies and procedures.
• Ensures staff adherence to standards of performance and provides feedback on performance.
• Supports performance improvement activities and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborates with educators and managers to ensure appropriate orientation of new staff.
• Conducts staff huddles on shifts and participates in unit and PCS-based teams, work groups, and committees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Current Illinois RN license.
• CRRN certification within 6 months of hire date or eligibility.
• A current AHA BLS Provider certification.
• Analytical skills necessary to assess patient conditions and apply the nursing process.
• Ability to interact with patients, families, medical personnel, and other healthcare team members.
• Experience in nursing, preferably with progressive responsibilities.
