Nursing Assistant - Surgical Short Stay - 24 or 36 Hours/Week - Nights

Responsibilities
- Supports personal hygiene and daily living needs of patients.
- Ensures patient comfort and provides vital sign monitoring.
- Cleans and prepares treatment spaces while ensuring patient safety.
- Communicates patient needs and feedback to appropriate staff.
- Completes clinical activities as per the patient's plan of care.
- Documents patient activities and responses accurately and timely.
- Maintains a safe, efficient, and sanitary patient care environment.
- Performs exam room preparation and equipment setup.
- Manages sterilization needs and organizes clinical care stock.
- Assists with reception duties and administrative tasks.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Completion of first clinical rotation as Nursing Assistant preferred.
- Completion of a 75-hour state-approved Nurse Assistant course or 6 months of Nurse Assistant experience required.
- Previous customer service, cleaning, food service, and/or patient-related experience preferred.
- One to three months of on-the-job experience to learn hospital procedures and work routines preferred.
- Previous experience in patient care settings such as hospitals, clinics, or nursing homes preferred.
- Previous experience with direct patient contact preferred.
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.

- Ability to understand and carry out instructions, follow schedules, communicate information, read simple and clear instructions, and complete reports.
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills commensurate with job description.
- Participation in mandatory in-services and continuing education programs as mandated by policies and procedures/external agencies and as directed by supervisor.
