Nursing Assistant - Surgical ICU - FT Nights

About the role

The Nursing Assistant aids professional and technical nursing personnel primarily by accomplishing a variety of duties and procedures which are directly related to patient care. Primary duties include taking and recording vital signs, assisting patients with hygiene and elimination, and maintaining a clean and safe unit environment.

Responsibilities

• Taking and recording vital signs

• Operating hospital equipment as directed
• Performing routine clerical tasks
• Assisting with other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Understanding of basic medical terminology
• Able to read, write and speak effectively in English
• Able to work weekends and holidays
• Certified Nurses Assistant (C.N.A.) or enrolled in an accredited nursing program with completion of at least 1 clinical semester
• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire (must be issued by the AHA)
• Approved workplace violence responder training program within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter

Qualifications

• Must be able to work weekends and holidays
• Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant or enrolled in an accredited nursing program with completion of at least 1 clinical semester
• Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic way
• Must have current BLS certification upon hire (must be issued by the AHA)
• Must complete approved workplace violence responder training program within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter
