Responsibilities
- Aid in patient assessments and interviews
- Take vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, respiration, and weight
- Document medical histories including medications, treatments, and medical conditions
- Support ADLs including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
- Provide basic wound care and laboratory tests
- Offer basic patient education and instructions
- Report changes in patients' health to nurses
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments
- Maintain inventory of medical and office supplies
- Answer phones, emails, and other communications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA required)
- Effective communication with diverse patients, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues
- Confidentiality and adherence to a Code of Conduct and facility policies
- Physical capabilities to stand for long periods, lift and move patients up to 50 pounds, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR
