About the role
Gundersen Health System (Emplify Health) – Harmony Care Center is a long-term care facility dedicated to promoting a healthy, meaningful, and secure environment for adults of all ages. We are looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant to join the team and work night shifts, including every other weekend and holiday. This is a part-time position with scheduled weekly hours of 32.
Don’t have a CNA certification? No problem! We will enroll you in a fully funded program to obtain your Minnesota CNA certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic care of patients under the general supervision of an RN in a long-term care setting.
- Transport and transfer patients within the medical complex safely and efficiently.
- Assist with data collection to facilitate the delivery of delegated nursing care.
- Work closely under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Accurately document resident care in an electronic medical record and demonstrate basic computer competency.
- Assist with basic patient care in the areas of nutrition, elimination, comfort, mobility, and safety.
- Ensure patient safety at all times.
- Participate in CNA meetings, unit staff meetings, and quality improvement activities to continuously improve patient care and unit operations.
- Perform other job-related responsibilities as requested by the Director of Nursing.
- Maintain flexibility and adhere to regular and predictable attendance.
- Transport and transfer patients using appropriate equipment and safety precautions based on the patient’s health status.
- Assist nursing staff in lifting and ambulating patients using appropriate practice guidelines.
- Maintain a clean environment and equipment.
- Demonstrate dependability, organizational skills, and effective use of time by setting priorities to complete delegated work within established time frames.
- Adhere to Gundersen Health System’s Mission statement, policies, and confidentiality standards.
Requirements
- Minnesota Registered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification. If you do not have your CNA certification, we will pay for it and can start you as a Nursing Assistant.
- Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands-on learning) from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Must be physically able to lift heavy objects, as well as push, pull, reach, and squat on a regular basis.
Pay
- $20.55/hour (higher pay for experience).
- If starting as a Nursing Assistant (without CNA certification), the pay rate will be $19.55/hour until certification is obtained.
- $2,500 sign-on bonus after 6 months of employment (taxes apply).
