Nursing Assistant - Part Time Day Shift - Advanced Acute Care Trauma Unit (No CNA Cert Required)

Job Summary

Geisinger offers a part-time Nursing Assistant position with a $16.25 minimum hourly wage, increasing for experienced individuals, and up to $3 shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends. Additionally, up to $40,000 in financial support is available to become a nurse.

Job Duties

• Demonstrate strong ability to meet orientation and long-term scheduling requirements.
• Show up on time and ready to contribute each day, with reliability, punctuality, and strong attendance.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with the care team.
• Perform a wide range of direct patient care activities and clerical duties, depending on the unit's needs.
• Maintain the integrity of specimens and report any changes in patient condition promptly.
• Provide patient care within the nursing assistant scope of practice, fulfilling the multidisciplinary care plan.
• Identify, observe, and document the physical needs of the patient according to established standards.
• Assist with activities of daily living and fulfill designated responsibilities for ongoing care.
• Accurately process specimens and transport them to the laboratory.
• Perform point-of-care patient testing and instrument maintenance.
• Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting equipment and supplies.
• Act as a preceptor and mentor for new staff and students.
• Transcribe and process orders, coordinate patient tests, and assist with transportation.
• Communicate with food services to ensure appropriate patient diets.
• Operate and maintain clerical equipment, including scheduling maintenance of computers, fax machines, phones, etc.
• Transport non-controlled medications as necessary.
• Assist with transporting blood products as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience (Preferred)
