Nursing Assistant | Nights | Med Surg

Schedule

36 hours per week (three 12-hour shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), including every other weekend.

• 2nd-shift premium: $2.00/hour
• 3rd-shift premium: $3.05/hour
• Weekend premium: additional $2.00/hour

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• Current Michigan Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA), or must obtain within 4 months of hire (hospital may cover cost)
• BLS, ACLS, and TEAM certifications (available through Hillsdale Hospital)

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of patient’s condition and plan of care; assist under direction of an RN
• Assist patients with activities of daily living
• Maintain accurate records in the chart (graphics, I&Os, evening and weekend activity, showers, etc.)
• Collect patient specimens per protocol
• Perform clerical duties related to admissions, discharges, transfers, etc.
• Input computer data appropriately
• Answer the telephone in a friendly manner, take messages, and direct calls
