Nursing Assistant | Nights | CCU

Schedule

7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3 days per week, including every other weekend.

Shift premiums: 2nd shift $2.00/hour, 3rd shift $3.05/hour, weekend $2.00/hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; will consider a high-school senior who holds a CNA or a 5th-year senior enrolled in Early Middle College
• Must be 18 years of age; will consider a 17-year-old who holds a CNA
• Current Michigan Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA), or must obtain within 4 months of hire (hospital may cover cost)
• BLS, ACLS, and TEAM certifications (available through Hillsdale Hospital)

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of patient’s condition and plan of care; assist under direction of an RN
• Assist patients with activities of daily living
• Maintain accurate records (graphics, I&Os, evening/weekend activity, showers, etc.)
• Collect patient specimens per protocol
• Perform clerical duties related to admissions, discharges, and transfers
• Input computer data appropriately; answer telephones in a friendly manner, take messages, and direct calls
