Roles and Responsibilities

• Renders patient care and a variety of procedures under supervision of registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
• Delivers and documents care according to hospital policies, procedures and philosophies
• Follows strict aseptic technique at all times
• Uses sterile technique when indicated
• Observes and reports all patient concerns and changes in condition to a Nurse immediately
• Safely transports patients, supplies, and specimens
• Respects patient's privacy rights, respects values of individual patients, and provides care accordingly
• Affords assistance with orientation of new employees
• Completes all annual competencies
• Affords assistance with unit cleanliness
• Performs other duties that may be assigned

Qualifications

• Complies with Corporate Policies, Procedures and Personnel Employee Handbook
• Must be able to cross-train to other units
• Demonstrates excellence in customer service skills
• Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration
• Participates in unit meetings
• Participates in quality improvement activities including serving on quality improvement teams
